Day 14

July 15, 2008
Walla Walla, Washington
Umatilla, Oregon
57 miles
1091 Total Miles

Today was a a relatively leisurely day by PYL standards only 57 miles, flat, slight tailwind and only two digit temperature as we descended from the bizarre brown barrenness of the highland desert into the Columbia River Gorge desert. The kids "jokingly" noted our t-shirts state North Dakota to Oregon as we crossed the border and momentarily "jokingly" submitted a group closing argument that we had reached our goal. Said argument was summarily denied and we proceeded to follow the historic Columbia River onward to the Pacific Ocean.

Hey it's nice to have an easy day to give the muscles a chance to relax. Still 57 miles is nothing to sneeze at. Onward to the Pacific and the journey's end.

Keep pedalin'. Enjoy!
