Dunkirk NY to Niagra Falls NY
75 Miles (Day)
283 Miles (Total)
A group of inner-city kids on bikes arrived at one of the wonders of the world working together, learning about our vast world & having the time of their lives!
A few words about these young men who are beginning to realize their limitless potential:
-Maurice Adams (Garfield)
A virtually last minute addition who was struggling for a few days & is now quite proud to hold a spot in the front of the pack.
-Gene Flowers (Hill District)
A sensitive youngster who couldn't bike 5 miles when we started training now cranks out 80 mile days with ease.
-Dion Wallace (Greenfield)
A 3 year veteran completing a coast to coast journey of America. He rides in the mid-pack although he knows he could be up front. (Hides from pictures!)
-Chris Butera (Swissvale)
The transformation from a shy, weak cyclist in Montana last year, to an outspoken leader and Lance Armstrong challenger has been amazing. Wolf beware!
-Eric Frye (Garfield)
All-World Eric is smart & enjoying both the ride, sights, and beating Mark one-on-one in hoops. This Michigan State football recruit managed a 1 point hoop win over the bearded 56 year old (who claims it was due to his bike shoes) in a game witnessed by quite a crowd to partially avenge the kids hearbreaking gridiron defeat.
-Charles Russel (West Side)
90 lbs of determination intelligence & constant wise cracking who is enjoying this ride.
-Justin Hardin (North Side)
What initially appeared to be a young, quiet, & slow cyclist is now a strong, smiling front pack rider.
Staff members are due their props for lots of work, enthusiasm, and often even competency:
Gordon Roth (Crew Chief)
Dan Finegold (Web Master)
Henry Netzer (Mechanics)
Heading due east today as we leave the falls after an early A.M. Maid of The Mist boat ride & begin the road to the coast.

Sounds like another great group! Keep it up! Yes, Dion is actively dodging cameras I think just to elicit my natural complaining that he does so. I'm glad you all manage to still sneak some of him.
